About Us

The mission of the Finnish Biological NMR Center is to carry out academic research dedicated to improving the understanding of biomolecules, and provide quality services in the field of NMR spectrometry. We offer access to state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise of our staff to further your research.

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a unique, non-destructive tool, to study biological macromolecules in solution. It is highly suitable for atomic-resolution structure determination, alone or in complex with a small molecule or a biopolymer, for macromolecule-ligand interaction studies, and for characterization of macromolecule dynamics over a wide range of time scales. For the atomic-level evaluation of the structural propensity and dynamics of, usually highly flexible, intrinsically disordered proteins and protein regions, NMR is the method of choice.

The Finnish Biological NMR Center’s equipment and skilled staff are available to both academic and commercial users and available through the Instruct framework.
